A21 fights human and labor trafficking around the globe. Their "Walk For Freedom" is a short, silent walk intended to raise funds and awareness for victims and survivors of modern-day enslavement.

Since 2009, APED has been a social actor that works to find quick and lasting solutions to the various problems that affect vulnerable populations in the DRC. Our experience is in working in emergency post-conflict areas such as the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. We are also a development organization whose programs are focused on care and education; water sanitation, hygiene and health; nutrition; and food security. Projects involve supporting former child soldiers and vulnerable children.

Fair Trade in One Local Community
In reality, everything in our shop has already been paid for. Each artisan is paid for their work up front, in full, and in every case they have received a fair, "living" wage. That is quite different from waiting for a donation, or hoping things sell so that you will be paid eventually.
The Gateway
For tens of thousands of women in our part of the world prostitution is a way of life simply because they have no choice. Poverty does that kind of thing.
